What Makes Paint Protection Film Different
Paint protection film is a clear urethane layer applied over your paint. Not a coating, not a wax, not a sealant.
The difference is thickness. Ours is 8 mils, which is thick enough to take a hit and absorb it. A coating is measured in microns and cannot do that. Around Conway you are driving through small rocks, sand, and dirt every day, and something has to stand between that and your clear coat.
Light scratches and wash marks in the film heal on their own with heat. A warm afternoon is usually enough. On bare paint, those same marks stay until someone polishes them out.

Windshield Protection Film
STEK DYNOtop. We are the only local shop offering this service.
A windshield replacement is expensive, and on newer cars it is worse than the glass alone, because the cameras and sensors mounted to it need recalibrating afterwards. Replacing it also means cutting out the factory seal, which counts against the car at resale. DYNOtop is a film applied over the outside of the windshield. Rocks bounce off it instead of chipping into the glass.

Why PPF Comes Before Ceramic Coating
The order these go on your vehicle matters more than most people realise.
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
A physical barrier with thickness. It absorbs rock chips, road debris, sandblasting, and scuffs before they reach your paint. It is the only thing that stops impact damage, and it belongs on the panels that take the hits.
Ceramic Coating
A chemical layer measured in microns. It handles UV fading, staining, water spots, and grime, and makes washing dramatically easier. It will not stop a rock chip and it was never designed to.
Most people reach for a coating first. It is the product they have heard of. But a coating changes how paint looks, not what happens when a rock hits it. Film keeps good paint good. You can add a coating later. You cannot undo a chip later.
Three of our four film packages already include Crystal Serum Light ceramic on the panels that are not filmed, so you are not choosing between them. Film where the impact happens, coating everywhere else.
How the Install Works
A vehicle inspection is required before any film goes on. Here is why, and what happens after.
Inspection
Film is clear, so it shows whatever is underneath it. We look over the paint, check for existing chips, and tell you straight whether it needs correction first.
Preparation
The panels being filmed get washed, decontaminated, and cleaned down properly. Anything left on the paint is stuck there permanently once the film goes on.
Film Installation
Film goes on panel by panel and wraps at the edges where the coverage allows, so there is no visible line across your hood.
Ceramic and Finish
On Partial Front, Full Front, and Track Pack, Crystal Serum Light goes on the panels that are not filmed so the whole car matches. Then we walk it with you.

What is the difference between film and ceramic coating?+
Film is a physical layer that absorbs impact. Coating is a chemical layer that handles UV, staining, and gloss. Different problems, which is why our film packages include ceramic on the panels that are not filmed.
Which package should I choose?+
If highway rock chips are the worry, Full Front covers where the damage happens. Track Pack adds the A-pillars and rockers for cars that see gravel or track days. Full Body leaves nothing exposed.
What counts as a specialty or oversized vehicle?+
Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, full-size trucks and SUVs, and other large vehicles. Send us your year, make, and model and we will tell you which column you are in before you book.
Why do you need to inspect my vehicle first?+
Film is clear, so it shows whatever is under it. The inspection tells us whether the paint needs correction first, and it lets us quote you properly instead of guessing.
Is the film warrantied?+
Yes. Every install we do is backed by the STEK manufacturer warranty.
Can film be removed later?+
Yes. It comes off without damaging the paint underneath, which is part of why it protects resale value.
Do you offer windshield protection film?+
Yes, and we are the only shop around here doing it. $499 on its own or $399 added to any PPF or ceramic package.
Can I combine film with a ceramic coating?+
Yes. Three of our four packages already include Crystal Serum Light on the panels that are not filmed.
How thick is the film?+
DYNOshield is 8 mils thick and made from thermoplastic polyurethane. That is what lets it absorb a hit instead of tearing, which is the difference between real protection and a thin cosmetic film.
What does the warranty actually cover?+
STEK covers DYNOshield for 10 years against delamination, yellowing, bubbling, and cracking. The warranty is only valid on a certified install, which is the main reason to have it done by an accredited shop.
Can I wax my vehicle after film is installed?+
No, and you do not need to. DYNOshield already has a hydrophobic ceramic topcoat built in. Water beads and lifts dirt off the panel on its own, so washing takes less chemical and less effort.
